Onyedinma Foundation has commended the Abia State Police Command for the swift and decisive apprehension of Nwoko Gift, the 35-year-old suspect captured on video attempting to harm a 12-year-old girl, identified as Ebo Chimamanda, with a kitchen knife.
The Abia State Police Command arrested the 35-year-old woman for allegedly attempting to kill her 12-year-old niece, following a viral video that sparked outrage on social media.
They said that the prompt action, which led to the rescue of the child and the recovery of the dangerous weapon, demonstrated that law enforcement is capable of responding effectively to cases of brutal child abuse, when the public remains vigilant and engaged.
