The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has approved the conferment of the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on 68 legal practitioners.
Kabir Akanbi, Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and secretary of the LPPC, said in a statement that the decision was taken at the committee’s 174th plenary session held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
According to the statement, the rank is awarded to legal practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional distinction either as courtroom advocates or as academics who have made significant contributions to legal scholarship.
Senior Ibrahim, Kwara state attorney-general, is one of the legal practitioners listed for elevation.
