Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has summoned a high-level security meeting with top security chiefs and key stakeholders to bolster the state’s security framework and safeguard lives and property.
The meeting, which took place on Tuesday at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, comes against the backdrop of escalating security concerns, including banditry and kidnapping incidents in several parts of the state, especially in vulnerable rural communities.
Participants included representatives from the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), vigilante groups, officials from the Ministry of Internal Security, all 21 local government chairmen, and members of the State Executive Council.
Discussions centred on a comprehensive review of the current security landscape, evaluation of ongoing operations, and the enhancement of inter-agency collaboration through better intelligence sharing and joint strategic responses to emerging threats.
