A two-day dialogue on electoral integrity has commenced in Kaduna, with community leaders, civil society organisations, media practitioners, women and youth representatives from 12 States meeting to develop grassroots strategies for combating electoral violence, misinformation and disinformation ahead of future elections.
The workshop, themed “Community Dialogues on Electoral Integrity – Trusted Voices for Credible Elections,” is being convened under the European Union Support to ECOWAS in Peace, Security and Governance (EPSG) Project.
The initiative is funded by the European Union, Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), and implemented by Fundación para la Internacionalización de las Administraciones Públicas (FIAP), a Spanish cooperation organisation.
The two-day programme, holding from July 28 to 29 in Kaduna, brought together 40 participants from Nigeria’s North-West and North-Central geopolitical zones to strengthen collaboration among influential stakeholders committed to promoting democratic governance and electoral integrity.
