Gunmen kill ‘30 people’ during attack on Kaduna village

At least 30 people were reported killed when gunmen attacked Naridon village in Kamaru ward, Kauru LGA of Kaduna state, on Monday morning.

The attackers reportedly stormed the village at about 1am on Monday and opened fire indiscriminately at residents.

 

In a statement, Amnesty International said the attackers pursued dozens of people who tried to escape into the bush and killed them.

 

“President Bola Tinubu claims he has repeatedly tasked security agencies to end the killings so that rural communities can go to bed with their eyes closed, but clearly nothing has changed,” the statement reads.

 

“The community has declared many people missing, and efforts are ongoing to ascertain the number of people killed, while more dead bodies are being discovered, within homes and nearby farms.
