The Halandre Eye Clinic has partnered with the Senior Citizens Care Foundation to provide discounted eye care services for elderly Nigerians.
The partnership, formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in Lagos recently, would grant a 25 per cent discount on treatment for patients aged 60 years and above.
The partners, in a statement made available to PUNCH Healthwise, explained that the initiative was part of activities to mark the forthcoming United Nations International Day of Older Persons and aimed at improving access to affordable eye care for senior citizens.
Celebrated yearly on October 1, the International Day of Older Persons is used to recognise the contributions of older people and examine aging issues. It highlights the importance of health, rights, and support systems for seniors.
