‘I Only Wanted to Train’ – Arokodare Breaks Silence on Wolves Protest

Tolu Arokodare, Super Eagles striker, has opened up about his protest that forced Wolverhampton Wanderers to cancel one of their pre-season training session.

 

On Monday, Arokodare sat on the training pitch to prevent the club, relegated from the English Premier League (EPL) last season, from training as they begin life in the English Championship.

 

The 25-year-old refused to exit the pitch, forcing Cesar Peixoto, the club’s new head coach, to cancel the training session, while additional security was stationed at their Compton Park training ground to prevent the Eagles striker from returning.

 

Arokodare had reportedly been instructed not to train with the Wolves’ first team, a move which is prohibited by the latest FIFA rule.

 

 

Arokodare and Wolves have reportedly been at loggerheads over the striker’s potential transfer away from the club.
