Chijioke Ihunwo, a former staunch defender of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has clarified his decision to align with the Rainbow Coalition linked to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, insisting that his loyalty to Fubara remains intact.
Ihunwo, who previously accused Wike’s camp of destabilising Rivers State, said his move was in line with the governor’s directive to embrace peace.
“My principal is the Governor of Rivers State, and he has said there is peace in Rivers State and that we need to move on. If we truly support him, we should join him in the Rainbow Coalition,” he explained during an interview on TVC’s Beyond the Headlines.
He stressed that his allegiance was still with Fubara, noting: “We are supporting our governor because we want peace in our state. He is our leader and we are going to follow him wherever he goes.”
