The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has restored the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)’s access to its candidate nomination portal, enabling the party to upload names of its candidates, including National Leader Senator Seriake Dickson and presidential candidate Peter Obi.
Dickson announced the development in a post on his X account on Tuesday, describing it as a positive development amid the party’s ongoing legal battle over its registration status.
The move follows the NDC’s filing of a notice of appeal and an application for stay of execution against last week’s Federal High Court judgment in Lokoja.
According to Dickson, the appeal and applications have been served on INEC, urging the commission to act in line with the law.
He reaffirmed that the NDC remains a duly registered political party that successfully conducted its primaries under INEC supervision.
