Insecurity biggest threat to North, says Gombe gov

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, on Monday declared that insecurity remains the biggest threat to Northern Nigeria’s stability and development, calling for collective action to defeat terrorism and other criminal activities across the region.

The governor made the call in a statewide broadcast to flag off the “Unite Against Terror” campaign, stressing that security is a shared responsibility between government, security agencies and citizens.

“Security is everyone’s responsibility. The government and security agencies cannot do it alone. If you see something, say something.

“If you notice any suspicious movement, unusual gathering, or activities that threaten the peace and security of your community, report them promptly,” Yahaya said.

He warned that without peace, sustainable development would remain unattainable, noting that insecurity has a direct impact on economic and social progress.
