US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Iran has asked for a meeting with American officials, scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday.
“IRAN HAS REQUESTED A MEETING. IT WILL TAKE PLACE TOMORROW IN DOHA!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform.
However, Iran’s foreign ministry dismissed reports of such talks, denying that Iranian and American technical teams were set to meet this week to discuss the implementation of a deal aimed at ending the Middle East war.
The conflicting statements highlight ongoing uncertainty surrounding US–Iran relations, as both sides continue to send mixed signals about possible negotiations.
