The Jigawa State Government has named the newly commissioned Gandun Sarki Road after Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who formally inaugurated the project.

During the same visit, the state government also named a second major road after her husband, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The two road projects are part of ongoing efforts to improve transportation infrastructure, boost economic activities, and enhance connectivity in the rapidly growing Hadejia axis.

Mrs Tinubu visited Jigawa State on Monday, June 29, 2026, for the commissioning of key infrastructure, education, and healthcare projects aimed at improving residents’ welfare and supporting the state’s development agenda.

In Hadejia, the First Lady commissioned the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic and Dialysis Centre, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road (Hadejia–Garun Gabas–Dolan), and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy.

She arrived at Dutse International Airport at 11:00 a.m. before proceeding to Hadejia for the road commissions and the launch of the North-West
