JUST IN: ADC Reacts to Court Ruling Affirming Party Leadership

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has welcomed the judgment of the Federal High Court dismissing a suit challenging its leadership, describing the ruling as a reaffirmation of the party’s constitutionally recognised leadership.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the court’s decision further reinforced its position that issues relating to party leadership are internal matters and are not subject to judicial intervention.

According to the ADC, the emergence of its current leadership under Senator David Mark complied fully with the party’s constitution and relevant Nigerian laws.

“This judgment affirms our clear position that the issue of leadership remains an internal affair of the party and is therefore not justiciable,” the party stated.
