JUST IN: INEC Reacts to Court Judgement Deregistering NDC, Reveals Next Line of Action

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated that it is yet to receive the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Federal High Court judgment in Lokoja which nullified an earlier order concerning the registration of the New Democratic Congress (NDC).

The commission made the clarification in a statement released on Saturday, by Adedayo Oketola, the Chief Press Secretary and Media Adviser to the INEC Chairman.

According to INEC, it is fully aware of media reports surrounding the June 26 decision, but will reserve any specific comments until its legal department can thoroughly study the CTC document.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is aware of reports circulating in the media regarding the judgment delivered on Friday, June 26, 2026, by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja, which set aside an earlier order concerning the registration of the Nigeria Democratic Congress,” Oketola stated.
