The Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND) has conducted a post-funding verification of a ₦56.6 million solar power project at Kiru General Hospital to assess its implementation and impact on healthcare service delivery.
The verification exercise was led by the Executive Secretary of KHETFUND, Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen, alongside members of the Fund’s management team.
According to a statement issued on Friday by Farouk Isa Musa on behalf of the Executive Secretary, KHETFUND disbursed ₦56,619,370 on March 12, 2026, for the installation of a solar power system at the hospital to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, improve service delivery, and enhance the quality of healthcare for patients.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Zahraddeen expressed satisfaction with the successful execution of the project, saying the intervention had significantly strengthened the hospital’s capacity to provide uninterrupted and efficient healthcare services.
