Kwankwaso hails Catholic bishops, urges govt to address cost of living, insecurity

The NDC vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, has commended the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria for speaking out on the economic hardship and insecurity facing the country.

Kwankwaso made the commendation in a statement posted on his social media accounts, including Facebook and X, on Tuesday night.

He praised the bishops for their courage in highlighting the challenges Nigerians are facing.

“I commend the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) for demonstrating courage and patriotism by drawing attention to the realities confronting our nation,” Kwankwaso stated.

According to him, the issues raised by the Church are not political but reflect the everyday struggles of Nigerians.

“Their concerns regarding the rising cost of living, worsening insecurity, declining public confidence, and the hardship faced by millions of Nigerians are neither partisan nor isolated; they reflect the daily experiences of ordinary citizens across every region of our country,”
