Kwara: Police begin enforcement of traffic laws

Kwara State Police Commissioner, Ojo Adekimi, has directed the immediate and strict enforcement of all extant traffic laws and regulations across the state in line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police.

This proactive measure comes on the heels of growing concerns over the increasing disregard for traffic rules and road safety protocols by some motorists and road users, a trend that has continued to contribute to avoidable road crashes, traffic congestion, obstruction of free vehicular movement, and the needless endangerment of lives and property.

The Command stated unequivocally that the enforcement exercise is aimed at restoring sanity, ensuring compliance with traffic regulations, safeguarding lives, and promoting an orderly road transport system throughout the state.

The Command, in a statement by its spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire Adeyemi, in Ilorin on Wednesday, explained that the initiative is not intended to inconvenience law-abiding citizens but to foster a culture of responsibility
