LASEMA contains Lagos fire, records zero casualty

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has responded to separate fire outbreaks in Igando and Anifowoshe, Ikeja, recording no loss of life in either incident.

The agency disclosed this in a statement signed by its Permanent Secretary, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, on Monday.

According to LASEMA, its response teams attended to multiple emergency incidents across the state between Sunday evening and the early hours of Monday.

The first fire occurred at about 7:37pm on Sunday at 23 Shaba Ojo Street, near Omolade Bus Stop, Igando.

LASEMA said its Dolphin Team was deployed to the area after receiving a distress call about the incident.

On arrival, responders found a two-storey building on fire, with the blaze originating from a two-bedroom flat.

The agency said the fire was caused by an electrical surge, adding that the affected apartment was unoccupied when the incident occurred.
