The Lagos State Government has begun a fresh review of its Community Resilience Action Plan for the Ajegunle-Ikorodu corridor as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s preparedness for climate, social and economic shocks.
The review was undertaken at an institutional workshop organised recently by the Lagos State Resilience Office in partnership with the Resilient Cities Network and global engineering consultancy ARUP, bringing together officials of state ministries, departments and agencies, development partners, academics and civil society organisations.
The workshop focused on assessing the implementation of the Community Resilience Programme, validating findings from ongoing interventions and identifying priority actions to strengthen resilience in one of Lagos’ rapidly growing communities.
Opening the workshop, the Chief Resilience Officer, Lagos State Resilience Office, Folayinka Dania, represented by the Assistant Director of Town Planning, Olufemi Dada, urged participating agencies to contribute practical sectoral perspectives that would improve the implementation of resilience policies.
