The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, has called for stronger cooperation from transportation unions to improve traffic flow and promote responsible road use across Lagos.
The agency made the call during a traffic advocacy and public enlightenment engagement with leaders and members of transportation unions and other stakeholders in the Ikeja axis of the state.
A statement by the agency said the engagement, held as part of LASTMA’s renewed efforts to combine enforcement with public education and stakeholder collaboration, focused on encouraging voluntary compliance with traffic regulations and improving road safety.
During the meeting, LASTMA officials sensitised transport union members on the need to obey traffic rules, maintain discipline while driving, follow proper loading and off-loading procedures, park responsibly and avoid actions that could cause traffic congestion or put other road users at risk.
