The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has urged Nigerian businesses to begin preparing their workforce for the artificial intelligence (AI) economy, warning that millions of jobs will require new digital skills over the next five years as AI reshapes workplaces and industries.
The call came at the LCCI Members’ Day 2026 held in Lagos under the theme, “Innovation at Work: Navigating the AI Economy Together,” where business leaders, policymakers and technology experts agreed that AI is no longer a future technology but a present-day economic force that companies must embrace to remain competitive.
