Makinde reaffirms commitment to quality education as Oyo schools resume

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has restated the state government’s commitment to improving the education sector through strategic policies and programmes, aimed to improve learning outcomes in public and private schools across the state.

The governor, through the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Olusegun Olayiwola, reiterated government’s commitment to quality education in his welcome-back message to students as schools resume for the first term of the 2026/2027 academic session on Monday, September 15, 2026.

These developments were contained in a statement released by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Dotun Oyelade, made available to newsmen in Ibadan, on Friday.

Governor Makinde, according to the statement, described the new academic session as an opportunity for students to rededicate themselves to learning and academic excellence

He urged students to remain focused, disciplined while also conducting themselves responsibly and abiding by the laws and regulations of their schools and the state.
