Moniepoint loans reach $700m, women secure 36% credit

Moniepoint has disclosed that it disbursed more than $700m in loans to micro, small and medium‑sized enterprises in 2025, with three out of every four borrowers receiving their first formal business loan, underscoring the fintech’s growing role in expanding financial inclusion and credit access.

The figures were contained in the company’s 2025 Impact Report titled ‘Creating Financial Happiness,’ which highlighted how transaction‑based lending is helping previously underserved businesses gain access to finance without relying on traditional collateral requirements.

According to the report, businesses that received Moniepoint loans recorded a 36 per cent increase in average transaction value, while enterprises banking with the fintech supported more than eight million jobs during the year. The company, which serves over 20 million businesses and individuals, said it uses proprietary transaction data to assess borrowers’ cash flows and creditworthiness, enabling it to lend to businesses often excluded by conventional banks.
