Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, popularly known as Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), have rescued a mother and her five-month-old daughter from a canal at Abule-Ado, along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The pair were reportedly discovered on Wednesday during a routine clearance operation conducted by KAI personnel in the area.
The agency’s spokesperson, Lukman Ajayi disclosed this during a telephone conversation, saying the operatives became concerned after finding the mother and infant inside the canal.
Ajayi said the woman was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for their presence at the location, while the baby was found in an unhealthy condition.

He said the operatives immediately intervened to safeguard the lives of both mother and child and transported them to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
