The Nigerian Air Force has embedded defence correspondents with troops in the North-East theatre of Operation Hadin Kai, as part of efforts to provide firsthand insight into ongoing counter-terrorism operations and strengthen public confidence in the military’s campaign against insurgency.
The media familiarisation visit, led by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, saw journalists from different media organisations participate in day and night air and ground patrols, interact with frontline personnel, observe operational planning and execution, and share meals with troops.
The initiative, the NAF said, aligns with the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, to promote transparency, accountability and effective strategic communication while showcasing the sacrifices of military personnel.
Speaking during the exercise in Maiduguri, Borno State, Ejodame said the Air Force considered it a responsibility to keep Nigerians informed about its operations and the realities confronting personnel
