NASENI empowers Osun youths, women with skills to drive local businesses

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure has empowered youths and women in Ile-Ife, Osun State, with advanced technical skills and work equipment to enable them to establish and grow local businesses.

The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NASENI, Khalil Halilu, stated this in a statement released by the agency on Monday following the closing ceremony of the three-day NASENI Sustainable Empowerment Programme held from August 7 to 9, 2026, at the NASENI Skills Acquisition Centre, Ile-Ife.

The programme trained beneficiaries in advanced photography and drone operations, advanced shoemaking, CCTV and inverter installation, and advanced tailoring, while relevant equipment was provided to enable participants to immediately apply the skills acquired.

Represented at the closing ceremony by the Overseeing Officer, Prototype Engineering Development Institute, Ilesha, Ahmed Hamzat, Halilu said NASENI was deliberately moving its empowerment interventions beyond the award of certificates by equipping beneficiaries with practical skills
