Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, the President-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has firmly pledged to step down from office if credible evidence emerges that the 2026 NBA presidential election, which brought her to power, was rigged.

In a Thursday interview on TVC News, Badejo-Okusanya dismissed allegations from some contestants and members of the legal profession claiming the election was manipulated in her favor.

She emphasized that the electronic voting system faced unprecedented public scrutiny and showed no signs of malpractice.

“The process that they say they cannot trust, my opponents are saying that it was rigged in my favour and thankfully, this electoral process has come under the greatest scrutiny that any of our elections have come under since we started universal suffrage and electronic voting,” she stated.

Badejo-Okusanya highlighted the consistent voting pattern throughout the exercise. She maintained a steady lead from the beginning, with the margin widening organically and no sudden vote
