NCDMB boost local content development, trains 50 world-class crane operators

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has trained 50 Nigerians in world-class crane operations, further boosting the country’s local content capacity.

The graduation ceremony, held on Friday in Port Harcourt, marked the successful completion of a four-week intensive Crane Operations Operator Level I and II training programme.

NCDMB and Zigma Limited, the programme’s facilitator, said the training was designed to equip participants with technical knowledge, practical skills and safety competencies required for the safe and efficient operation of cranes in line with industry best practices.

The training was part of efforts to build a highly skilled workforce for Nigeria’s oil and gas, construction and industrial sectors.

Felix Omatsola Ogbe, NCDMB’s Executive Secretary, stressed the board’s commitment to strengthening business capacity, driving innovation and promoting sustainable growth across the energy sector.

Ogbe, represented by Halvin Okonmah, noted that the initiative aligns with the NCDMB’s mandate to develop human capital
