NDC backs Makinde’s call for UN probe into Oriire school abduction

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s call for an independent United Nations (UN) investigation into the abduction of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of the state has been endorsed by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

The party said a transparent and impartial international investigation would help establish the facts and strengthen public confidence in the ongoing probe, adding that the circumstances surrounding the incident had raised serious concerns.

The NDC National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, in a statement on Tuesday, explained that the party believed a UN-backed investigation would help unearth the truth, ensure accountability and secure justice for the victims and their families.
