NDLEA Kaduna dismantles 662 drug joints, secures 245 convictions in one Year

The Kaduna State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intensified its campaign against illicit drugs, dismantling no fewer than 662 drug joints across the state between June 2025 and June 2026.

The State Commander, Maijama’a Muhammad, disclosed this during a press briefing in Kaduna to commemorate the 2026 United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Speaking on this year’s theme, ‘The World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses,’ the Commander said that the agency had sustained efforts to tackle both the supply and demand sides of drug abuse through robust enforcement and community-based interventions.

He revealed that within the period under review, the Command arrested 1,107 suspects, comprising 1,075 males and 32 females. Out of the number arrested, 284 suspects were charged to court, while 245 were successfully convicted.

The Command also intercepted a total of 12,724.652 kilograms of assorted illicit
