The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) has distanced itself from a circulating document soliciting funds for the production and distribution of the revised basic education curriculum for the 2026/2027 academic session, describing it as fake.
Salisu Shehu, the executive secretary at NERDC, in a statement issued a disclaimer on Monday in Abuja, described the document as fictitious and unauthorised. He called on government agencies, schools, development partners and the public to disregard it.
“NERDC has not written to any organisation requesting financial support for producing, printing or distributing the revised curriculum, and it urged recipients of such solicitations to treat them as fraudulent.
“The management of NERDC hereby strongly and unequivocally disclaims any document or correspondence, under any guise or arrangement, requesting support from any institution for the production, printing and distribution of the revised basic education curriculum”, the statement read in part.
