American comedian and actor, Nicholas Scott Cannon, has paid tribute to his late son, Zen, on what would have been his fifth birthday.
Cannon joined Zen’s mother, Alyssa Scott, their daughter Halo Marie and other family members to honour his memory. Zen would have turned five on June 23. He died at the age of five months after battling a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer.
Dressed in white, the family gathered on a beach with posters of Zen. They later held a private backyard ceremony, where they cut a birthday cake in his honour.
Nick Cannon shared several photos from the celebration of life ceremony on social media. Alongside the images, he quoted a verse from 2 Corinthians 4:6 and wrote, “Zen’s light will forever shine in our hearts. We love you, my son, ❤️ 🕊️🙏.”
