Nigerian Army Foils Kidnap, Rescues Four in Kebbi

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s Operation FANSAN YAMMA have successfully prevented a kidnapping attempt in Surimi, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, near the Sokoto border.

According to a statement released on X, the operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated that armed terrorists were carrying out abductions in the area. Soldiers from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Unashi swiftly mobilized and intercepted the attackers.

On arrival, the troops engaged the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to abandon four kidnapped victims and flee into the bush.

The rescued individuals have since been reunited with their families.

Military officials confirmed that no casualties were recorded among the soldiers during the mission, describing the success as further proof of the army’s commitment to protecting lives and tackling insecurity in Nigeria’s North-West.
