A Nigerian-born public-sector digital transformation leader, Dotun Oluyade, has urged healthcare systems to rethink governance and administrative processes, warning that excessive reporting and bureaucratic requirements could undermine the objectives they are designed to achieve.
Oluyade, Head of Application & Development at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, made the call while delivering a keynote address at the 2026 Public Sector Data and AI Summit in Westminster, London.
The fifth edition of the summit, held at One Great George Street, brought together about 200 senior leaders in data, analytics, artificial intelligence and digital transformation from local and central government, the National Health Service and the wider United Kingdom public sector.
Speaking on the theme, “The Oversight Paradox: Cutting Through Administrative Noise to Restore NHS Purpose,” Oluyade examined the tension between the growing demand for clinical data and the administrative burden involved in collecting, assuring, reporting and managing the information.
