1. A senior member of the Islamic State West Africa Province has surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East, in what the military described as another major setback for the terrorist group. The acting Media Information Officer of OPHK, Capt. Mohammed Goni, said the terrorist surrendered to troops of 3 Battalion under the 24 Task Force Brigade on July 25.
3. The African Democratic Congress has accused President Tinubu of creating the impression that some victims of insecurity matter more than others, urging him to provide updates and timelines for the rescue of 176 residents abducted from Woro community in Kaiama, Kwara State, who have remained in captivity since February 3, 2026. The ADC also cited the recent abduction of 40 residents in Zamfara, and fresh attacks in Benue as evidence that insecurity remains widespread.
4. A Kebbi State High Court Judge, Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, has been abducted by bandits. The high court judge, it was gathered, was abducted in the early hours of Sunday at his home along Zogirma Road in Bunza Local Government
