1. Adeniyi Adeyemi, Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, PFIPC, has been arrested. He was arrested in Osun State hours after a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ordered his immediate arrest over his failure to appear in court.
2. President Bola Tinubu has asked the House of Representatives to amend the 1999 Constitution to pave the way for the establishment of state police services, describing the proposal as a critical step towards reorganising Nigeria’s security architecture to tackle the country’s growing security challenges. The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered a vehicle fraud syndicate allegedly responsible for defrauding car dealers of more than N1 billion through a series of coordinated scams involving exotic vehicles. Police said investigations into three related cases led to the recovery of several vehicles that had been transported from Lagos to Abuja and other parts of the country and sold to unsuspecting buyers.
