Nigeria’s Rank launches 3 new community-powered financial services products

Nigerian fintech startup Rank has launched three new community-powered financial services products – Money Circles, Tribe and Perks – designed to dismantle structural barriers to wealth creation for young Africans. 

Rank is an integrated financial services and wealth management platform dedicated to unlocking shared prosperity. Its ecosystem consists of RankApp, which allows users to spend, save, and invest as a group; investment arm Rank Capital; and Rank Microfinance Bank.

The Y Combinator-backed fintech startup was Moni until a November 2025 rebrand that marked a strategic shift towards delivering a wider range of financial services for communities, and also saw it acquire AjoMoney and Zazzau MFB.

As part of that shift, the startup has now launched three community-powered products that aim to make it easier for young Africans to access zero-interest capital to support their entrepreneurial and personal ambitions. Over the past 12 months, Rank has paid out more than US$100 million to users across various communities, and these new products build directly on that momentum.

Money Circles is a modern, safer version of traditional group savings such as Ajo, Esusu and Rotational Savings and Credit Associations (ROSCAs). Users can access zero-interest capital by joining a circle and committing to monthly contributions. When their slot arrives, they receive an agreed lump sum and continue making their regular contributions, paying only a fixed service fee based on their payout position.
