The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency has announced plans to deploy the Maritime Enhanced Monitoring System, an integrated platform that will combine its existing digital systems to facilitate real-time monitoring of vessels, cargo and other maritime activities.
The Director of NIMASA’s Cabotage Services Department, Ms Gloria Anyasodo, disclosed this recently in Lagos when the agency hosted the Executive Master’s and PhD students of the University of Lagos Business School, led by the Programme Coordinator and Associate Professor of Transport Planning and Logistics, as well as Programme Coordinator of Urban Logistics and Transport Planning at the University of Lagos Business School, Dr Olayinka Agunloye, who were on a study tour of NIMASA’s Apapa office.
This was contained in a statement over the weekend by Dr Agunloye, obtained by The PUNCH.
Speaking during the visit, Anyasodo described the engagement as strategic, adding that research remains the foundation of sustainable development.
