The Nigeria Immigration Service has assured Nigerians that passport services remain available nationwide despite the relocation of passport printing operations to its Central Personalisation Centre at the Service Headquarters in Abuja.
The service said the move was purely operational and would not affect the processing and issuance of passports at any passport office across Nigeria or designated Nigerian embassies and consulates.
The NIS on its X handle on Friday explained that only the printing stage of passport production had been centralised, while applicants would continue to access passport services at their preferred offices.
“The migration of production in passport offices to the Central Personalization Centre in Service Headquarters, Abuja is purely operational and does not in any way stop the processing and issuance of passports at any passport office within the country or designated Nigeria’s Embassies or Consulates,” the Service stated.
