NLC Protest Disrupts Air Peace Flight at Lagos Airport, Stranding Passengers

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) disrupted flight operations at the Lagos airport on Tuesday, leaving passengers scheduled to travel on an Air Peace flight stranded.

Protesters locked the Zulu terminal gate, with the action beginning around 5 a.m. 

The affected Air Peace flight, set to depart at 6:30 a.m., was unable to take off as passengers waited amid the disruption.

The incident sparked frustration among travelers. One passenger told Daily Trust that the delay had disrupted his schedule and left him uncertain about when the flight would eventually depart. Another said she had arrived early for the 6:30 a.m. departure but was left stranded without clear information on when operations would resume.

An Air Peace staff member confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, stating “Yes, it’s true,” but declined to give a reason for the protest. An operator familiar with the matter said the action was intended to enforce Air Peace employees’ right to
