NLC, TUC declare indefinite strike at FUTA Teaching Hospital

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) in Ondo State have directed workers at the Federal University of Technology, Akure Teaching Hospital (FUTATH) to embark on an indefinite strike over the alleged failure of the hospital management to implement a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on staff welfare.

This was contained in a directive, jointly signed by the Ondo State Chairman of the NLC, Comrade (Prince) Ademola Adeniji Olapade, and his TUC counterpart, Comrade Clement Fatuase, and addressed to all affiliated health sector unions in the teaching hospital.

The leadership of the unions stated that the industrial action, which is expected to commence from 12:00 midnight on Sunday, July 26, called on the workers to withdraw their services until further notice.
