Rivers United assistant coach, Yemi Daniel Olanrewaju, has turned down an approach from Shooting Stars for the club’s head coach position, DAILY POST reports.
Olanrewaju has been linked with the vacant coaching job at Shooting Stars following the exit of Nurudeen Aweroro last week.
The former Enyimba coach said his priority is to remain with Rivers United until the end of the 2026-27 season.
Daniel insisted that he has enjoyed a smooth working relationship with Rivers United and technical manager, Finidi George.
“I am a coach with credibility and values and there are many things I hold in a high esteem and one them is Respect,” Daniel wrote on X.
“I love shooting stars and its project and we have had contacts in the past and it is a club I will always consider but for now, my focus and everything is with Rivers as I will like to honour
