NSCDC arrests four for vandalism in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Jigawa State Command, has arrested four suspects for allegedly vandalising and stealing aluminium roofing sheets from the School of Nursing, Hadejia.

The suspects were apprehended on Tuesday, by operatives of the NSCDC Gandun Sarki Division during a routine surveillance operation aimed at protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.

Confirming the arrest in a statement issued on Wednesday in Dutse, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani, said the suspects were intercepted behind the perimeter fence of the School of Nursing, Hadejia.

“The suspects were intercepted during routine surveillance as part of the Corps’ mandate to safeguard Critical National Assets and Infrastructure,” he said.

Tijjani said the suspects were found with 13 square metres of aluminium roofing sheets suspected to have been removed from the ongoing renovation works at the institution.
