The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has renewed its call for stronger collaboration with employers to improve the welfare, safety and professional development of corps members across Nigeria.
The call was made Tuesday during the 2026 NYSC Corps Employers’ Workshop in Umuahia the Abia State capital with stakeholders in the state reaffirming their resolve to create safer, more productive and more rewarding workplaces for Corps Members.
Speaking, the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, whose address was read by the NYSC State Coordinator in Abia, Alhaji Yunusa Tanimu, described this year’s theme, “Fine Tuning Stakeholders’ Collaboration to Enhance Corps Members’ Welfare and Workplace Experience,” as both timely and strategic, stressing that the future relevance of the scheme depends on stronger partnerships among government institutions, employers and host communities.
