Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed recent allegations made by former President Olusegun Obasanjo against him as a desperate attempt to rewrite history and give political advantage to Obasanjo’s preferred candidate ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku described the claims particularly the accusation that he bribed the late Rt. Hon. Ghali Umar Na’Abba to impeach Obasanjo as reckless and unfair to a deceased person who can no longer defend himself.
“Atiku said the former President’s decision to accuse him of bribing the late Rt. Hon. Ghali Umar Na’Abba was not only reckless but fundamentally unfair to a man who is no longer alive to defend his name,” the statement read.
