Ogun Approves 450 Housing Units, New Lawmakers’ Quarters, Others

The Ogun State Executive Council has approved a series of major projects, including the construction of 450 housing units, new quarters for members of the State House of Assembly, the reconstruction of the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, rehabilitation of key roads, and the upgrading of traditional stools.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the approvals reflect Governor Dapo Abiodun’s commitment to infrastructure expansion, institutional reforms, and cultural preservation.

Among the projects are:450 housing units: Two-bedroom semi-detached bungalows with supporting infrastructure.Assembly quarters: 28 official residences for lawmakers.

Ibara GRA duplexes: 28 sellable units to boost estate value and attract private investment.

Governor’s Lodge reconstruction: Modernisation of the Asokoro, Abuja facility.

Road rehabilitation: Including Okun-Owa–Ijebu-Ode Road, Ago-Iwoye–Ijebu-Igbo–Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic Road, Odeda-Olugbo Road, Ayobo–Lafenwa Junction Road, and Agbala Road in Iperu.

Chieftaincy upgrades: Recognition of the Akoko of Tongeji Island, Onitafin of Orile Itafin, and Olu of Orile
