Ogun govt tasks learners on continuous, effective reading for better performance

Learners in Ogun State have been charged to cultivate the habit of creating quality time for reading effectively before the commencement of any form of examination, to obtain better performances and come out with good grades.

Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Abayomi Arigbabu, gave the charge during the monitoring of the first day of the 2025/2026 Unified Promotion Examination at Ijebu-Ode, Remo and Yewa axis of the state.

Arigbabu stressed that the real mechanism for students to record excellence performance was through thorough reading and comprehending what was read.

The commissioner accompanied by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Lukmon Kiadese, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Oluwatosin Oloko and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Education, Daniel Idowu, disclosed that the government had put necessary machineries in all schools across the state to aid efficient teaching and learning for uttermost performances of learners.

He expressed satisfaction with the comportment of the school heads, teachers and learners during the examinations and assured parents that the government would continue to invest massively in developmental infrastructure to further enhance the standard of education.

“Before schools resume for the next session, people should look out for the massive construction and rehabilitation of classrooms and school buildings in all schools, up to tertiary institutions. Governor Dapo Abiodun has also promised to invest hugely in all the Five Special Needs Schools in the State for total transformation,” Arigbabu said.
