Monday Okpebholo, governor of Edo, on Friday swore in two commissioners, 20 permanent secretaries, including Melody Omosah, a visually impaired person.
The governor also swore in members of the governing council of the Edo State College of Health Sciences and Technology.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook page, Okpebholo described Omosah’s appointment as a historic milestone for the state, noting that he is Edo’s first visually impaired permanent secretary.
“This occasion marks a historic milestone as Mr Melody Omosah becomes the first visually impaired Permanent Secretary in Edo State, a testament to our unwavering belief that ability, competence, and character—not disability—should define opportunity,” the statement reads.
Okpebholo also announced the appointment of Martin Oli, a member of the Igbo community, as commissioner.
