Olatoye misses hammer throw podium

Nigeria’s Sade Olatoye fell short of a medal in the women’s hammer throw at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, finishing eighth outside the podium places despite a spirited performance, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The African Championships silver medallist who had a best attempt of 63.27m was unable to challenge the leading contenders in a high-quality final dominated by Canada’s Camryn Rogers.

Rogers successfully defended her Commonwealth title in style, setting a new Games record of 74.91m to claim the gold medal.
