Senator Orji Kalu, representing Abia North, has declared that President Bola Tinubu faces no serious challenger in the 2027 presidential election, urging supporters not to waste their votes on opposition candidates.
Kalu made the assertion on Friday while addressing stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at a meeting in Umuahia, Abia State.
He argued that the ruling party is poised to retain power because the opposition remains too fragmented and weak to mount a credible challenge.
“The good news is that we are going to win the nation comfortably,” Kalu said. “President Tinubu has no competition, he has no rival. The opposition is in tatters, absolutely tatters, quote me.”
The former Abia governor, who described himself as a “political scientist” and entrepreneur, added that even he would not pose a serious threat to Tinubu within the APC.
He advised against throwing away votes, emphasising the need for votes to count meaningfully.
